Every great pond starts with
the right design.
From natural ecosystem ponds to formal water features and large-scale koi habitats, we offer solutions for every vision, space, and budget. Whether you’re building a peaceful backyard retreat or a statement centerpiece for a business, we have the products and expertise to help you choose the right style and build it with confidence.

Patio Pond
Patio ponds are designed for small spaces and are usually purchased as a kit. They are great for aquatic plants, goldfish, and small- to medium-sized koi. Their capacity is 800 gallons or less; they utilize skimmers and waterfall filters, and if cost is a concern, they can be built with minimal stone.
Patio ponds can be constructed as a water garden and cleared out yearly or built as an eco-pond and largely maintain itself.

Backyard Brook
A Backyard Brook system can give you the sights and sounds of a tropical waterfall, but without the pond. A twisting and babbling stream can curve a path through your backyard, and the water empties into a pit of gravel. These water features are extremely low maintenance, can be turned off and on at any time, and are child friendly. Birds and butterflies will flock to your yard when you create a habitat with a water feature.

Eco- Pond
An eco-pond system is the most popular type of water feature being installed today. Through the creation of fish-safe rubber membrane and the explosion of water features in the early ’90s, there was very little information on pond design and construction. The only people who knew anything about ponds were water gardeners and koi keepers–two very different philosophies about pond construction.

Dinosaur Pond
The dinosaur pond was the second constructed at Hardscape Materials. Originally built with a pressurized filter similar to a swimming pool filter and drew water through a bottom drain. With the creation of PondEco in 2000, this pond was upgraded with two Harmony skimmers and two Harmony filters.

Koi Pond
Koi ponds are for true koi enthusiasts and are primarily for rearing high-quality koi. Collecting a stable of fine koi is a fun and rewarding hobby, and koi collectors are always looking for a fine specimen to add to their collection. Trading, selling, breeding, and upgrading are all part of the game to acquire the ultimate collection of koi. Koi shows take place in nearly every state in the U.S. Oklahoma has many koi breeders who produce some of the finest domestic koi in the country.

Marina Pond
Built in 1998 as Hardscape Materials began expanding into koi sales, the Marina Pond was designed with both durability and functionality in mind. At four feet deep, it features a bottom drain at its lowest point to support proper circulation and water clarity. The side walls were framed with 2” x 4” lumber and finished with a lightweight concrete mixture, creating smooth, solid walls once cured and stripped of framing.

"I love this place. Bought my first home (all mine!) and finally get to do all of the things I've been wanting to do. Found great ideas and practical and affordable ways to make them happen here. Tons (pun intended) of selection. Different colors, shapes, textures. Everyone who works here is insanely nice, very friendly, very helpful. I was a little overwhelmed at first, here's what I've learned .... Everything is clearly labeled - no awkward back-and-forth about price here..."
